Are Implants Dental Safe?
Although not everyone is familiar with implant dentures, periodontists have been using them for many years. The first implant dental was placed in 1965, and the technology has continued to evolve ever since. Today, dental dentistry is considered one of the safest and reliable ways to replace missing teeth that cannot be fixed or saved by other means.
What Happens During Dental Implant Surgery?
The implant must be placed surgically into your jawbone and this is done by an oral surgeon. It is carried out under local anaesthetic at the practice. During the surgery the gum is cut open to reveal the bone and a hole is drilled (with a quiet drill) into the bone where the implant is to be placed. As the implant is taking on the role of an artificial tooth root it needs to be placed deep into the bone. Once the surgery is completed, you will still have a gap where the missing tooth is for approx. 2-4 months to allow the implant to integrate into the jaw bone. You may be given a temporary denture for appearance sake until the implant has been fully restored with either a crown, bridge or denture.
If I Need Extractions, How Long Do I Need to Wait to Get an Implant ?
The dental implant fixture requires a snug fit in your jawbone. Although your tooth or teeth may be missing, allowing space for the implanted tooth, you must have sufficient bone to hold the implants in place, or they will not heal properly. It is possible to have your implant fixture placed on the same day as your extractions in some cases. Focus Dental Clinic Bodrum implant dentistry team will help you for hall process.
What is All on 4?
All On 4 is a dental implant technique where the upper or lower set of teeth are replaced with just four implants. Conversely, with just two implants positioned at the front of the mouth and two angled implants positioned at the back, only four implants are needed to provide support for the full arch. The implant is placed in front of the maxillary sinus in the upper jaw (maxilla), and in front of the mental nerve in the lower jaw (mandible). The head of the implant emerges in approximately the second premolar position. This will allow a molar tooth to be cantilevered posterior, resulting in a denture or bridge with approximately twelve teeth. Implant Bodrum Focus Dental Clinic has 100% percantage succes on all on 4 dental implants Turkey.
What is All on 6?
The All-on-6 dental implant treatment provides a surgical treatment option for replacing a full set of teeth in the upper or lower (or both) jaw with just six dental titanium implants placed precisely at strategic positions and at certain angle. It is also for patients with partially missing teeth and want to get a full arch dental implant, by replacing the existing teeth. The All-on-6 process offers a stable, long-term, alternative to traditional dentures. Implant Turkey Focus Dental Clinic has 100% percantage succes on all on 6 dental implants Bodrum.
Which is better All-on-4 or all on 6 dental implants?
The most clear difference between all-on-4 and all-on-6 dental implants is the number of implants that are placed in the mouth. Some dentists believe that the all-on-6 dental procedure provides a stronger, more stable base for the prosthetic dental arch, resulting in a longer-lasting, more comfortable smile.
If a more extensive reconstruction is needed, All-on-6 implants are a better choice because the additional implants provide additional support. However, if you do not have the additional bone mass required for the additional implants, you would be a more likely candidate for All-on-4. Our Bodrum Implant Dental team will advise you.
What are Sinus Lifts and Bone Grafts?
Bone grafts and sinus lifts are somewhat different, but are used to accomplish the same basic task. These treatments are used to provide a solid, strong platform upon which a dental implant can be placed.
It is a safe, common, and straightforward procedure that allows you to restore your smile.
A bone graft utilizes a piece of bone from an animal, donor tissue, or from elsewhere on your own body, which is placed into the gumline in a brief surgical procedure, then allowed to heal.
The sinus membrane is lifted upwards and materials that will allow bone formation are placed. This is called sinus lift. After the sinus lift procedure is performed in patients with very low bone amount, all on six implant cannot be applied in the same session. The application is started after waiting for a certain period of time. However, if there is enough bone to support the implant; In this case, both sinus lift and implant application can be performed in a single session.

Implants Dental Aftercare
Bite down gently but firmly and constantly on a folded piece of gauze over the surgical site for half an hour after your procedure.
If bleeding persists after 1 hour, place a new piece of folded gauze over the site for another 30 to 45 minutes and repeat as needed. Do not change the gauze too frequently as this will pull off the clot and stimulate bleeding.
Keep your head slightly elevated the first day while lying down (head above the heart).
Apply cold packs or ice bag wrapped in a towel to the face, adjacent to the area of surgery, every 20 minutes. Hold the pack in place for 15 to 20 minutes. Continue this for the first 12 to 24 hours after the surgery.
After 24 hours, start using a moist heating pad to the surgical area. This will help the swelling subside.
Don’t spit or rinse your mouth vigorously.
Don’’t disturb the implant site with the tongue or fingers. Avoid brushing around the operated area of the mouth.
Warm salt water rinses (teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water) should be used at least 3 to 4 times a day, especially after meals.
Do only light physical activity following implant surgery. Expect to get back to your normal activities within two to three days.
For the first 2 days, your diet should be softer, and avoid hot liquids or chewing on the implant or bone graft site.
Increase your fluid intake but avoid using a straw under any circumstance.
Bruising may be more noticeable 3 or more days later (and be more profound if you’re taking aspirin or other blood thinners). It will slowly disappear but sometimes the use of warm compresses in the area will speed up resolution.
Don’t drink alcohol or smoke – Drinking alcohol and smoking can dry out your mouth and reduce your blood flow, interfering with the healing process. Avoid both of these habits for at least a few days.
Be sure to take the prescribed antibiotics as directed until they are completely gone regardless of how good you may feel to help prevent infection.
